Nine Columbus Catholic players named to 2023 All-Central Wisconsin Conference Boys Soccer Team

Conference champion Marshfield Columbus Catholic had nine players earn spots on the 2023 All-Central Wisconsin Conference Boys Soccer Team, as voted on by the conference coaches following the season.

Senior forward Alex Edwards was one of four Dons named to the first team and was named the CWC Player of the Year.

Columbus Catholic defender Cy Becker, midfielder Charlie Moore and goalkeeper Lucas Kreklau, all seniors, were also among the first-team selections.

Edwards finished the season with 62 goals and 11 assists as the Dons went 12-0 in conference play and finished 20-5-2 overall.

Moore had 16 goals and 17 assists, Becker had six goals and Kreklau finished the season with 78 saves and a .736 save percentage.

The Dons had two second-team selections in freshman defender Ben Weiland and sophomore midfielder Mason Edwards. Sophomore midfielder Cade Jansen, and senior defenders Nathan Nemitz and Josh Van Wyhe were among the honorable mention choices.

Columbus Catholic coach Jeff Edwards was named CWC Coach of the Year as the Dons reached the WIAA Division 4 sectional final before a loss to Washburn/Bayfield.
