Auburndale girls basketball outlasts Abbotsford in low-scoring affair

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team kept its perfect record intact, grinding to a 35-28 win over Abbotsford in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale led 14-11 after a low-scoring first half and outscored the Falcons (1-4, 0-3 Marawood North) by four in the second half to squeeze out the victory.

Rose Hasenohrl was the only player for either team to reach double figures as she led Auburndale (3-0, 2-0 Marawood South) with 12 points.

Auburndale hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, the top-ranked team in the Wissports.net Division 5 state coaches poll, on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in a Marawood South contest.
