Auburndale boys basketball blasts Newman Catholic

WAUSAU – The Auburndale boys basketball team took charge early and rolled to a 71-27 win over Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Newman Catholic High School.

Auburndale raced out to a commanding 41-13 lead by halftime and were never threatened, improving to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Marawood South.

Kaden Anderson scored 20 points, Caden Weinfurter made five 3-pointers and scored 19 points, and Blake Raab added 15 points in the win for the Eagles.

Auburndale hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in another Marawood South contest Friday at 7:15 p.m.
