Stratford girls basketball dominates second half to down Newman Catholic

STRATFORD – The Stratford girls basketball team bumped its Marawood Conference South Division record to 4-1 with a 38-27 win over Wausau Newman Catholic on Thursday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers trailed 19-18 at halftime before holding Newman Catholic (1-7, 1-5 Marawood South) to just eight points in the second half.

Ashley Hollatz led Stratford (5-2 overall) with eight points. Tria Tubbs added six points and a team-high nine rebounds in the win.

Stratford hosts Loyal for a nonconference game on Monday.
