Spencer girls basketball loses road game at Colby

COLBY – Colby’s Dakota Hoeper and Alexis Vanderhoof proved to be too much to handle as the Hornets downed Spencer 51-34 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Colby High School.

Hoeper finished with 19 points and Vanderhoof added 18 for Colby, which earned its first Cloverbelt East win of the season, improving to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Colby led 24-14 at halftime and was able to hold on from there.

Emma Nieman had 10 points and Hannah Schreiner chipped in eight for the Rockets, who fall to 2-5 and 0-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer is back at home Tuesday against Owen-Withee.
