Stratford wrestling wins four individual titles, team championship at Stanley-Boyd tournament

STANLEY – The Stratford wrestling team had four individual champions and four runner-up finishes to earn the team title at the Stanley-Boyd Pre-Holiday Scramble on Friday at Stanley-Boyd High School.

Stratford finished with 207.5 points to take first place in the six-team tournament, with Glenwood City second with 191.5 points.

Colin Cournoyer (17-4 at 120 pounds), Trenton Cournoyer (17-2 at 126), Kaleb Krummel (17-5 at 165) and Noah Lucio (19-3 at 215) all picked up individual tournament titles for Stratford.

The Tigers had four others place second: Roman Schmidt at 113, Mathias Kaiser at 138, Jack Tubbs at 175 and Drew Gage at 285.

Stratford will compete at the Bi-State Classic in La Crosse on Dec. 29-30.
