Pittsville downs Spencer girls basketball

SPENCER – Pittsville jumped out to an eight-point halftime lead and was able to hold on the rest of the way to defeat Spencer 59-42 in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night at Spencer High School.

Brooke Grossman hit three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points, and Reese Grimm also had three 3-pointers and 14 points for Pittsville (10-2).

Autumn Davis led Spencer with 18 points as the Rockets fall to 3-10 this season.

Spencer travels to Loyal for a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
