Stratford girls basketball outlasts Marathon, evens season record at 8-8

STRATFORD – The Stratford girls basketball team evened its season record at 8-8 with a 39-33 win over Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

The Tigers overcame a one-point halftime deficit and pulled away in the second half, holding Marathon to just 14 points.

Marathon made just nine shots from the field in the loss, falling to 5-11 overall and 2-8 in the Marawood South.

Kayla Casperson led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points for the Tigers (6-4 Marawood South).
