Stratford wrestling team takes fifth at D.C. Everest Invitational

WESTON – The Stratford wrestling team had a pair of second-place finishes and three others take third place as it finished fifth at the 13-team Fred Lehrke Evergreen Invitational on Saturday at D.C. Everest High School.

Andrew Schreiner took second at 103 pounds and Mark Marquardt was runner-up at 152 for the Tigers, who totaled 300 team points to take fifth.

Pulaski won the team title with 457 points, followed by D.C. Everest (339), Sun Prairie (328) and Denmark (308). Spencer/Columbus was eighth with 143 and Auburndale took ninth with 129.

Alex Heiden (112), Luke Radke (189) and Andrew Murdaugh (285) finished third for Stratford.

Auburndale had a pair of third-place finishers in Lane Schuld (103) and Kyle Kundinger (125).

Aaron Dunbar (145) was fourth, and Trevor Ackman (119) and Kyle Andrea (285) took fifth for Spencer/Columbus’ top finishes.
