Marshfield graduate Danielle Carlson to play in NCAA volleyball tournament for Marquette University

MILWAUKEE – Marshfield High School graduate Danielle Carlson will be playing in the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament on Friday for Marquette University.

Marquette, who earned its first at-large bid to the tournament, will face Western Kentucky in a first-round matchup at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the University of Illinois in Champaign. The winner will take on the winner of No. 3 seed Illinois and Central Michigan at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Carlson has started all 33 games this season for Marquette (23-10), finishing third on the team in kills (328) and kills per set (2.76), first in kill percentage (.383) and second in serve percentage (.955).

Carlson, a junior, has won all-tournament team honors at the Hawkeye (Iowa) Challenge, the Bluejay (Creighton) Invitational and Marquette/Milwaukee Tournament.
