Stratford girls basketball blasts Chequamegon for first win of season

PARK FALLS – Stratford outscored Chequamegon 11-0 in the first quarter and rolled to a 48-30 nonconference girls basketball win on Thursday night at Chequamegon High School.

Hannah Schmitt had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Tigers’ attack.

Stratford used its hot start to take a 25-4 lead by halftime.

Amanda Rindfleisch and Carrie Stroetz each added eight points and Brooke Schultze had four points, six assists and nine rebounds for Stratford (1-1).

Stratford hosts Athens on Monday.
