Columbus Catholic boys soccer routs Tri-County

PLAINFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys soccer team had no problem with Tri-County, knocking off the Penguins 9-0 in a Mid-State Soccer Conference game Thursday.

Christian Payant, Jared Fleischmann and Sean McCarthy scored two goals each for the Dons, who improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-State Conference.

Ryan Dieringer, Charles Payant, Will Atkinson and David Schlinsog each added a goal for Columbus.

Dieringer had three assists, with Fleischmann, McCarthy, Atkinson and Schlinsog each tallying one assist.

Columbus goalies only had to make two saves in the game – one each by Evan Hansen and Bailey Keffer.

The Dons return to action Tuesday with a home game against Wisconsin Valley Lutheran. The game starts at 5 p.m. at Griese Park.
