Stratford softball uses big inning to get past Auburndale

STRATFORD – Stratford used a seven-run inning to bust open a tie game and went on to a 14-3 win over Auburndale in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Tuesday.

The score was tied 3-3 after 1½ innings before the Tigers put up seven runs in the bottom of the second and added four more in the third to post the victory.

Auburndale had eight hits, three by Kaeden Dvorak. Shannon Yahnke, Kelly Brokish and Heidi Gehrke scored runs for the Apaches (0-3, 0-2 Marawood South).

Stratford (3-1, 1-0 Marawood South) had 16 hits against Auburndale pitchers Camille Swart and Robyn Brokish.

Auburndale hosts Edgar on Thursday and plays at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Friday. Stratford is off until Friday when it hosts Edgar.
