Spencer baseball stays unbeaten with rout of Gilman

SPENCER – Mitchell Susa allowed just one hit in five innings and Spencer scored at least one run in all six innings to defeat Gilman 10-0 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Friday at Spencer High School.

The Rockets pounded out 17 hits in the victory, improving to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman is now 0-2 overall and in the conference.

Susa struck out nine and did not walk a batter in a dominating performance on the mound for the Rockets. Bobby Pilz pitched the final inning, striking out two.

Joe Meyers was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Alex Brostowitz was 3-for-4 with a double for Spencer.

Spencer hosts Colby on Saturday at 10 a.m. in a make-up game from Thursday.
