Marshfield Clinic Blue Demons Junior Legion wins two against Plover

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Junior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Plover on Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Blue Demons (11-10 overall, 7-6 Wisconsin Valley Legion League) won 4-3 and 5-2.

Bobby Pilz struck out seven in a complete-game victory in Game 1 for Marshfield. Jeremy Brost had the game-winning RBI single, one of his two hits. Jared Klein also had two hits, including an RBI single that tied the game at 3-3.

Jake Brueggen pitched a complete game in the second game, striking out seven to earn the win for the Blue Demons. Brost had a two-RBI single and Brenden Collins had two hits for Marshfield.

The Blue Demons host their own tournament this weekend playing South Wood County at 6 p.m. and Pittsville at 8 p.m. on Friday. The tournament continues Saturday.
