Marshfield girls hockey storms back late to beat Badger Thunder

BARABOO – The Marshfield girls hockey team scored three times in the third period to beat the Badger Thunder (Baraboo-Reedsburg co-op) 4-3 in a nonconference game on Friday night at Pierce Park.

Marshfield trailed 3-1 after a goal by the Thunder’s Emma Capener 4:27 into the third period.

From there, the Tigers dominated.

Morgan Larson and Lexi Dupee scored on assists from Kaylee Geiger 36 seconds apart to tie it, and Nell Eichten connected on the game-winner on an assist from Kessa Schreiner with 6:35 to go.

Dupee had Marshfield’s first goal in the second period.

Alexis Straughan had 26 saves for the Tigers (3-5).

Marshfield’s next game is Jan. 2 at home against Waupaca.
