Columbus Catholic baseball shut out by Loyal

MARSHFIELD – Riley Geiger tossed a five-hit shutout to lift Loyal to a 7-0 victory over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Thursday at Hackman Field.

Loyal scored one run in the first and added a pair in the third, fourth and sixth innings to pull past the Dons (3-3 overall and Cloverbelt East).

Geiger struck out five and walked two, and also had three hits at the plate for Loyal (4-4, 4-3 Cloverbelt East).

Kienan McIntee suffered the loss for the Dons, giving up all seven runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Columbus plays at Colby on Friday.
