Stratford boys basketball pulls away to beat Colby in opener

STRATFORD – Nick Stoflet was 6 of 8 from the field and scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Stratford boys basketball team to a 51-35 nonconference victory over Colby on Tuesday night in the season-opener for both teams.

The Tigers were 18 of 41 from the field overall and 7 of 14 from 3-point range in the victory.

Ethan Nagel added 12 points, Cole Hoffmann had 10, and Derrick Schmidt had a team-high 10 rebounds for Stratford, which outscored Colby by 15 points in the second half to pull away.

Stratford hosts Stevens Point Pacelli in another nonconference game on Monday.
