Wausau Newman tops Columbus Catholic in WIAA Division 5 girls basketball regional semifinal

WAUSAU – Marshfield Columbus Catholic saw its season come to an end Thursday night as it dropped a 49-38 decision to Wausau Newman Catholic in a WIAA Division 5 girls basketball regional semifinal at Newman Catholic High School.

The Dons finish the season with a 13-11 record.

Marissa Immerfall led the Dons with 15 points and Baylie Neider added 10 in the loss.

Newman led 24-14 at halftime and held off the Dons from there.

Signe Fronek had 20 points for the Cardinals, who went on to lose the regional final at Loyal on Saturday, 55-41.
