Stratford baseball sends Pittsville to first Marawood South loss

PITTSVILLE – The Stratford baseball team handed Pittsville its first loss in Marawood Conference South Division play with a dominating 16-2 win on Thursday at Pittsville High School.

Cole Hoffman and Lance Heidmann combined on a two-hitter, with Hoffman earning the win with three innings of work.

Stratford scored three runs in the first inning and added five more in the second to take control early.

Hoffman was 4-for-4 with a double and four runs scored, Dylan Schoenherr had two doubles and two RBIs, Dakota Singer had three hits and four RBIs, and Devyn Palmer and Heidmann each had three RBIs for the Tigers (10-4, 6-3 Marawood South).

Pittsville drops to 14-3 overall and 8-1 in the Marawood South.
