Columbus Catholic softball loses at Gilman

GILMAN – Gilman scored nine runs in the third inning to pull away and defeat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 12-2 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Tuesday.

Gilman led 3-2 before the third-inning explosion. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Gilman is now 9-6 overall and 5-5 in the Cloverbelt East, while the Dons fall to 4-10 and 2-9 in the conference.

The Dons host conference champion Spencer on Thursday and Owen-Withee for a doubleheader on Friday to finish off their Cloverbelt East schedule.

Two Columbus pitchers combined for nine walks and three hit-batters in four innings. The Pirates scored their 12 runs off only five hits, including two from Amanda Wisocky.

Maren Seefluth had two hits and an RBI for the Dons.
