MARSHFIELD – Brady Franz threw a complete-game one-hitter to lead Stevens Point past Marshfield 4-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball game Friday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Franz struck out nine and did not walk a batter for Point, which is now 10-11 overall and 8-2 in the WVC. Marshfield drops to 7-10 and 6-4 in conference play.

The Tigers wrap up their regular-season schedule with games against first-place Wausau West this week – Tuesday at home and Thursday at West.

Connor Jasurda had a single for Marshfield’s only hit.

Jake Brueggen took the loss, giving up four runs (one earned) in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out eight and walked one.
