Marshfield volleyball goes 2-3 at second day of Sun Prairie tournament

SUN PRAIRIE – Marshfield won two of five matches Saturday to finish 3-7 combined at the two-day Sun Prairie Volleyball Invitational.

On Saturday, Marshfield beat Beaver Dam 25-16, 18-25, 15-5, and Wrightstown 25-10, 25-21. The Tigers lost to Watertown 25-14, 25-10; Hortonville 25-14, 21-25, 15-4; and DeForest 25-15, 26-24.

Karly Nikolai had 24 kills and eight block kills, Lindsey Steffen added 18 kills and five service aces, and setter Corianne Johnson had 58 assists and six aces for the Tigers.

Kaydee Johnson had a team-high 36 digs, and Johanna Beyer added eight block kills in the five matches for Marshfield.

Marshfield hosts Wausau East in its Wisconsin Valley opener Thursday at 7 p.m.
