Columbus Catholic soccer rolls past Gresham/Bowler

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic won its second-straight Central Wisconsin Conference game on Thursday, pounding Gresham/Bowler 7-3 at Griese Park.

Evan Dieringer hit for a hat trick, and Calvin Brown had two goals and two assists for the Dons, who are now 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the CWC.

After a quick goal by Gresham/Bowler (0-3-1, 0-2 CWC), Dieringer scored off an assist from Anna Roewe to tie it and Zach Olson put the Dons ahead for good 10 minutes later.

Dieringer added another goal before halftime, and Columbus scored four unanswered goals in the second half to pull away as Brown, Nadim Torbey, Dieringer and Brown again all added scores to make it 7-1.

The Dons play at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Tuesday.
