Prentice shuts down Auburndale girls basketball

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale was held to six points in the first half and could not recover as it dropped a Marawood Conference girls basketball crossover game to Prentice 41-31 on Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Prentice (13-7, 9-6 Marawood North) pulled out to a 22-6 lead by halftime and held on from there.

Auburndale (12-8, 7-7 Marawood South) made just 8 of 40 shots from the field and missed nine of 22 free throws in the loss.

Hannah Bolder made all six of her free throw attempts and scored eight points to lead the Apaches.

Caelyn Ulrich had 16 points and Kaelyn Isaacson added 15 for the Buccaneers.

Auburndale plays at Stratford on Tuesday and at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Feb. 17 to finish its regular-season schedule. The WIAA playoffs begin Feb. 20, with the brackets set to be released on Sunday.
