Marshfield boys basketball team edges Chippewa Falls; JV suffers 2-point loss

WESTON – The Marshfield boys basketball team improved to 7-0 with a 60-56 win over Chippewa Falls on Wednesday night during the Big Rivers/Wisconsin Valley Conference Challenge at D.C. Everest High School.

Marshfield will battle fellow unbeaten Superior (6-0), which beat Merrill 76-70 on Wednesday. Superior knocked off Marshfield twice last year – at the Big Rivers/WVC Challenge and in a WIAA Division 1 regional final.

The Wisconsin Valley won the other three games to take a 4-1 lead in the 10-game tournament. D.C. Everest downed Hudson 65-61, Wausau West whipped Menomonie 66-26, and Wausau East beat Eau Claire North 58-42.

The Marshfield JV boys basketball team fell to 4-3 on the season after suffering a narrow 35-33 nonconference loss to Chippewa Falls.

Luke Zuiker scored 14 points and Isaac Accola added seven for the Tigers.
