Columbus Catholic boys basketball rolls past Loyal in WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team will play for a regional title after a solid 66-48 win over Cloverbelt Conference East rival Loyal in a WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Blake Jakobi poured in 23 points, Charlie Moore added 14, Lucas Kreklau had 11 and Cy Becker 10 in the win for the Dons, who improve to 24-2.

The No. 1 seed Columbus Catholic will host No. 4 Alma Center Lincoln (22-4) in a D-5 regional final Saturday at 7 p.m. ACL dumped Port Edwards 73-49 on Friday.

Cain Toufar led Loyal with 12 points and Greyhounds wrap up their season with a 12-14 record.
