Stratford, Auburndale each earn two second-team picks to 2023-24 All-Marawood Conference South Division Girls Basketball Team

Auburndale and Stratford both had two second-team selections on the 2023-24 All-Marawood Conference South Division Girls Basketball Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the season.

Conference champion Wisconsin Rapids Assumption had four of the five first-team selections, including Player of the Year Sarah Shaw.

Joining Shaw on the first team were teammates Addi Vollert, Anna Schooley and Jordan Jaglinski, and Edgar senior Makayla Wirkus.

Shaw averaged 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and seven steals to help the Royals to a perfect 16-0 record and a Marawood South championship.

Auburndale freshmen Gracie Hasenohrl and Rose Hasenohrl, and Stratford senior Ashley Hollatz and sophomore Tria Tubbs were second-team selections.

Rose Hasenohrl averaged 7.1 points and 3 rebounds per game, while Gracie Hasenohrl chipped in 4.3 points, 3 rebounds and a team-high 2.4 assists per game for Auburndale, which finished second in the Marawood South with an 11-5 record.

Hollatz averaged 5.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, while Tubbs led Stratford in rebounding at 8.0 per game and scored 8.3 points a game as the Tigers placed third in the conference with a 10-6 mark.

Mya Krings and Sidney Wollf of Auburndale, and Kayla Casperson and Carly Pankratz of Stratford were among the honorable mention choices.

Hollatz and Auburndale’s Hope Schulte were among those picked to the All-Defensive Team, which also include Shaw, Taylor Lemmer of Edgar, Cayden Sapinski of Marathon and Lily Shields of Wausau Newman Catholic.
