URBANA, Ill. – The Marshfield girls soccer team picked up its first win of the season, downing Herscher (Ill.) 2-1 on the opening day of the Urbana Invitational on Friday.
Abby Ongna scored 10:09 into the game with a solid shot from 19 yards out.
Herscher’s Katelyn Borschnack tied the game in the 26th minute and the game remained tied until Ongna slipped in another goal 23:59 into the second half for what proved to be the game-winner for the Tigers.
Marshfield (1-0-1) will play a pair of games at the tournament on Saturday.
