Pittsville blanks Spencer baseball

PITTSVILLE – Dylan Luther and Jameson Krueger combined on a four-hit shutout as Pittsville downed Spencer 7-0 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at Pittsville High School.

The Panthers (5-0) scored all seven of their runs in the first three innings and rode their pitching to finish off the victory.

Carter Luepke suffered the loss for Spencer (1-3), allowing all seven runs – three earned – in 2 2/3 innings.

Spencer will open its Cloverbelt Conference East Division season at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Friday before hosting the Dons on Saturday.
