Marshfield girls finish second, boys fifth at Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track Meet

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield girls won three events and finished second, and the boys earned one event victory and took fifth place at the 2024 Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Stevens Point won both team titles as the boys finished with 200 points and the girls ended up with 161 points.

D.C. Everest was the boys runner-up with 124.5 points, while the Marshfield girls finished second with 145.5 points.

Gracie Ridgway won the high jump (5 feet), Ella Allar was first in the triple jump (33-7½), and the 800-meter relay team of Devyn LeMoine, Gracie Ridgway, Ayana Bousum and Hannah Ridgway won in 1:52.06 for the Marshfield girls.

LeMoine added a second-place finish in the pole vault (9-6), Emma Ridgway was second in the high jump (5-0), Olivia Gage placed third in the 60 meters (8.30) and the 200 (27.71), and Natalie Scharenbroch took third in the 1,600 (5:34.35) and the 800 (2:29.60) as well for Marshfield.

The Marshfield girls 1,600 relay team of Ashley Grancorvitz, McKenzie Holm, Lucy Luedtke and Ella Allar added a third-place finish in 4:25.73, and Holm also took third in the 400 in 1:04.74.

Ethan Knecht picked up the Marshfield boys lone conference title as the junior won the shot put with a toss of 50 feet, 3¼ inches.

Dirk Vanderwyst was the runner-up in the high jump (6-3), Monty Woltmann placed third in the triple jump (40-3½) and Owen Hoerneman took third in the 1,600 (4:34.81) for the Tigers.

Marshfield will compete in its first outdoor meet on April 18 at De Pere.
