Columbus Catholic softball rolls past Osseo-Fairchild

MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic softball team rolled to victory in its home opener, pounding Osseo-Fairchild 14-2 in a nonconference game Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

The Dons scored eight times in the first inning and added runs in their next three at-bats to finish off the game after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Akosua Yeboah had three hits, including a home run, and three RBI, and Kylee Lingford, Abby Wojcik and Katelyn Casperson all had two hits each for the Dons, who are now 2-1 this season.

Yeboah earned the pitching win, striking out seven in five innings.

Columbus Catholic hosts Chippewa Falls McDonell on Thursday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds. Game time is 5 p.m.
