Marshfield boys golf places third at Wisconsin Rapids Quad

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Maxx Oertel shot an 85 to finish seventh for Marshfield at the Wisconsin Rapids Boys Golf Quad on Tuesday at Ridges Golf Course.

Wisconsin Rapids won the event with a score of 330, three shots ahead of Stevens Point. Marshfield was third with a 350 and D.C. Everest fourth with a 372.

Wisconsin Rapids’ Carter Morrison easily won medalist honors with a 74, six shots in front of Stevens Point’s Jackson Schroeder.

Tyler Heiman added an 87, Magnus Machtan had an 88, Grayton Anderson shot a 90 and Afton Hamill had a 92 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.

“We’ve got some work to put in and it looks like the weather is looking much better moving forward,” Marshfield coach Jay Holm said. “I think I speak for the entire team when I express just how nice it’ll be to practice on some real grass today at practice.”

Marshfield will compete at the two-day Hartford Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Washington County Golf Course.

Marshfield’s JV team finished with a score of 385, led by Sakat Kanchireddy, who fired a 93. Camden Kolstad and Blake Meissner both shot 97, Sam Heiman had a 98 and Eli Kruger finished with a 103 for the Tigers.
