WAUSAU – The Marshfield girls soccer team grabbed a dominant 7-0 win over Wausau East in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener Thursday night at East High School.

Abby Ongna had a hat trick, and Grace Taylor and Presley Franklin each scored twice for the Tigers, who improve to 3-1-1 overall.

Taylor, Lauryn Katzenberger and Cassie Langfoss had assists in the win for Marshfield.

Ongna scored all three of her goals in the first 24 minutes of the game as Marshfield took a 5-0 lead into halftime. Taylor and Franklin added their second goals in the opening 7:19 of the second half.

The Tigers will play a nonconference game at Pulaski on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
