Marshfield boys golf finishes 20th at 41-team Hartford Invitational

HARTFORD – A total of 41 teams and more than 200 golfers competed at the two-day Hartford Boys Golf Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Hartford Golf Club and Washington County Golf Course.

Marshfield finished right in the middle in a three-way tie for 20th place with a two-day total of 682. Milwaukee Marquette was the team champion with a 612, five strokes better than Germantown.

Keegan Fredrick led the way for Marshfield, shooting a pair of 81s to finish with a 162 and in a tie for 47th place. Magnus Machtan had a total of 173 (84-89), Afton Hamill was one stroke behind that with a 174 (91-83), Maxx Oertel had a 176 (89-87) and Tyler Heiman finished with a 177 (91-86) for the Tigers.

Robbie Meyers of Waterford shot a 145 (77-71) to win medalist honors as he ended up one stroke better than Cody Schmidt of Germantown, Jack Lamm of Sussex Hamilt and Cade Nottestad of Cambridge.

Marshfield will host its 10-team Marshfield Invitational on Tuesday at RiverEdge Golf Course.
