STRATFORD – Henry Zaleski and Brady Berg combined on a three-hitter as the Stratford baseball team finished a series sweep of Auburndale, winning 4-1 on Thursday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

Zaleski struck out five in six innings to earn the win and Berg worked around two walks to earn the save for the Tigers, who are now 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the Marawood Conference South Division after defeating Auburndale (5-3, 2-2 Marawood South) for the second time this week.

Jack Tubbs hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning and the Tigers added another run to go up 2-0.

A Vance Kielman sacrifice fly in the fifth made it 3-0 before Auburndale scratched out a run when Peyton Weinfurter walked and scored on a Caden Weinfurter double.

The Tigers got the run back in the bottom of the sixth on a bases-loaded walk by Berg.

Both teams will hit the road for nonconference games Friday as Auburndale heads to Rib Lake and Stratford will travel to Phillips. Both games start at 4:45 p.m.
