Stratford baseball grabs road win at Edgar

EDGAR – Jack Tubbs had two hits and scored twice as the Stratford baseball team defeated Edgar 3-1 in a Marawood Conference South Division matchup Tuesday at Edgar High School.

Brady Schmidt allowed three hits while striking out 11 in six shutout innings to earn the win for the Tigers, who are now 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the Marawood South.

Vance Kielman added a pair of hits and an RBI in the win for Stratford.

Jase Apfelbeck knocked in the lone run for Edgar (7-4, 2-3 Marawood South) in the seventh inning.

The two teams will have a rematch Thursday at Stratford.
