Manlick scores 24 to lead Columbus Catholic girls basketball team past Augusta

AUGUSTA – Elizabeth Manlick had 24 points to lead three Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls in double figures as the Dons beat Augusta 57-48 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday night at Augusta High School.

The Dons (4-8, 3-6 Cloverbelt East) led 29-14 at halftime only to see Augusta (2-9, 1-8 Cloverbelt East) come back in the third quarter, cutting their lead to 38-27.

Columbus stayed in control in the fourth. Manlick made 4 of 4 from the free-throw line and Abby Gotz scored six of her 12 points as the Dons held on for the win.

Manlick was 12 of 12 from the line and added five steals and five rebounds for Columbus. Taylor Weister added 13 points and six rebounds.

Allie Nelson scored 23 points for Augusta.

Columbus hosts winless Gilman on Friday.
