WESTON – D.C. Everest remains unbeaten as it sent Marshfield to its fourth-straight loss, winning 5-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Tuesday at D.C. Everest High School.
Addison Kluck struck out 15, and allowed just two hits and two walks to earn the win for the Evergreens, who are now 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
The lone run for Marshfield (7-6, 1-3 WVC) came in the second inning when Madison Kraus led off with a single and scored on a double by Rhyan Costa.
The lead held until the fifth when D.C. Everest took the lead with a three-run frame. The Evergreens tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth.
Mara Meverden had a double and two RBI, Piper Schulz finished 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Kelsey Meverden had a triple and also drove in two for D.C. Everest.
Both teams will be back in action Thursday as Marshfield hosts Stevens Point and D.C. Everest travels to Merrill.
