Marshfield softball rips Wausau East to stop five-game losing skid

MARSHFIELD – Madison Kraus had a pair of two-run hits to help the Marshfield softball team to a 15-5 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday at Madison Field.

Wausau East led 3-2 after 2½ innings before Marshfield put up four runs in the bottom of the third, which included a two-RBI triple from Kraus, to take the lead.

The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the fifth and finished off the game via the 10-run rule with a seven-run sixth.

Kamyrn Pearce finished with three hits and two RBI, Kraus was 3-for-3 with the four RBI, and Madilynn Cole had a double and three RBI for Marshfield (8-7, 2-4 WVC), which snapped a five-game losing streak with the home victory.

Marshfield will host Merrill on Monday at 5 p.m.
