Marathon senior Cody Hanke repeated as the Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball player of the year, as voted on by the conference coaches.
Hanke led the Marawood South in scoring at 22.7 points a game, 5.5 points per game more than Gavin Hautala of Pittsville, who was second at 17.2.
Hanke was the lone unanimous first-team pick and was joined on the first team by Hautala, Auburndale senior C.J. Castellano, Edgar senior Dakota Heidmann and Marathon senior Brody Hurtis.
Castellano was second on Auburndale in scoring at 9.4 points a game and second in the conference in assists with 67.
Auburndale sophomore Austin Hawkins and junior Markus Kleifgen were named to the second team, along with Marathon’s Cedric Lechleitner, Wausau Newman’s Ryan Strasser and Stratford’s Derek Austin.
Hawkins was third in the conference in scoring (15.4 points a game) and sixth in rebounding (7.1 rebounds a game).
Kleifgen averaged 8.6 points and 5.5 rebounds a game, and was second in the conference in shooting percentage, making 64.5 percent of his field goal attempts.
Austin finished sixth in scoring, averaging 13.3 points a game.
Auburndale’s Jake Hansen and Kyle Greunke, and Stratford’s Austin Shelley and Troy Mengel were among the honorable mention selections.
Auburndale’s Chad Weinfurter and Marathon’s Jeff Reiche were named co-coaches of the year.
