MARATHON – The Stratford girls basketball team’s season came to an end with a 47-37 loss to Marathon in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal on Friday night at Marathon High School.
Stratford finishes with an 11-13 record after making it into the second round of the playoffs for the first time in seven years.
Marathon (17-7) plays Marawood Conference rival Edgar (14-9) in a regional final at 3 p.m. Saturday at Antigo High School. The winner moves on to a Division 4 sectional semifinal on Thursday at Wausau East against the winner of the Amherst-Auburndale regional final.
