Spencer’s Krystal Weier named to Cloverbelt East girls basketball all-conference first team

Spencer junior Krystal Weier highlights four Rockets chosen to the 2010-11 All-Cloverbelt Conference East Division Girls Basketball Team.

Weier was one of five underclassmen named to the six-person first team. She joins Neillsville freshman Jenny Lindner, who was named Player of the Year, Augusta junior Allie Nelson, Colby sophomore Sarah Gamillo, Owen-Withee junior Alyssa Gordon, and the lone senior, Taylan Johnson of Greenwood.

Spencer junior point guard Kyleigh Hebert was a second-team selection and junior center Courtney Schulz and sophomore forward Tara Matter were honorable mention picks for the Rockets, who finished second in the conference with a 13-3 record.

Marshfield Columbus Catholic sophomore Elizabeth Manlick was the lone Don picked. She was a second-team selection along with Hebert, Loyal senior Kahri Rueth, Neillsville senior Sammie Pfeiffer and junior McKenzie Trunkel, and Owen-Withee sophomore Aleyna Goerlitz.

The other honorable mention choices were Colby junior Corrine Meacham, Gilman senior McKenzie Fedors, Greenwood juniors Rachel Herdrich and Kelsey Kirn, and Loyal senkior Caitlyn Weinfurtner.
