Greenwood blasts Columbus Catholic softball

GREENWOOD – Greenwood ripped Marshfield Columbus Catholic 20-10 and 23-5, sweeping a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball doubleheader Friday.

Columbus had seven hits and five walks in the first game, but couldn’t overcome Greenwood’s hot offense.

Elizabeth Manlick was 2-for-3 with a double for the Dons. McKenna Immerfall, Miranda Dieringer, Shawna Rhodes and Katelyn Welsh each had one hit in the loss.

In Game 2, the Dons were held to two hits – singles by Antoinette Kaiser and Welsh.

Columbus (0-12 overall and Cloverbelt East) plays at the Wisconsin Rapids Assumption Royal Rumble on Saturday and hosts Owen-Withee next Thursday.

Greenwood improves to 11-5 and 10-2 in the conference.
