PLOVER – The Marshfield Chaparrals baseball team suffered a 7-4 loss to the Plover Pterodactyls on Wednesday at Memorial Field.

Plover scored three runs each in the third and eighth innings to pull away.

Eric Fritz led the attack for the Pterodactyls, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs at the plate, and throwing seven innings on the mound, allowing just three hits and two runs, while striking out four and not walking a batter.

Cain Trunkel suffered the loss for Marshfield, striking out nine in seven innings, but he allowed four runs and nine hits.

John Safford had two hits and Lucious Messerschmidt had two RBIs for the Chaparrals (16-9).
