RICE LAKE – Marshfield senior Maggie Field finished tied for 11th and earned an individual qualifying spot in next week’s sectional on Wednesday at the WIAA Division 1 girls golf regional at Turtleback Golf & Country Club.
Field shot a 94 to finish in a tie with Katie Byron of River Falls for 11th.
Hudson’s Cassie Wurm won medalist honors with a 76, seven shots ahead of three other golfers.
River Falls, New Richmond, Hudson and Rice Lake won the four team qualifying spots.
Field finished second among golfers not on those four teams, qualifying individual for the Division 1 sectional on Oct. 5 at Forest Hills Golf Course in La Crosse.
Alison Gotelaere of Superior shot a 92 to finish 10th, Sawyer Thiel of Eau Claire Memorial tied for 13th with a 95, and Kaitlyn Alvarez of Eau Claire North had a 96 to tie for 16th and wrap up the other three individual spots.
