Marshfield volleyball team finishes third at Neenah Invitational

NEENAH – The Marshfield volleyball team went 3-2 and beat Kaukauna in a one-game playoff for third place at the Neenah Invitational on Saturday.

Marshfield beat Waupun 23-25, 25-17, 15-6, Kaukauna 25-19, 25-15, and Appleton Xavier 25-21, 22-25, 15-8, and lost to Waunakee 28-26, 25-22, and West Bend East 25-19, 25-15.

Tiffany Stargardt led the Marshfield attack with 62 kills and 74 digs. Darian Molter also had 74 digs and had a team-high 12 service aces, and Courtney Bauer had 32 kills for the Tigers.

Marshfield setters Tori Nanstad and Mary Wolff each finished with 56 assists, and Mikala Sebastian and Miranda Forrest both had 10 block kills.

Neenah won the championship, beating West Bend East in the finals.

Marshfield hosts Chippewa Falls on Tuesday and Wausau West on Thursday.
