Columbus Catholic’s Manlick, Gotz and Hertel advance to WIAA girls tennis sectional

APPLETON – Marshfield Columbus Catholic earned 10 points and had two sectional qualifiers on Monday at the WIAA Division 2 girls tennis subsectional at Appleton Xavier.

No. 1 singles player Elizabeth Manlick and the No. 1 doubles team of Abby Gotz and Nikki Hertel advanced to Wednesday’s sectional at Manitowoc after winning their first-round matches for the Dons.

Manlick beat Paige Bennklau of Medford 6-1, 6-1 and Gotz and Hertel knocked off Stevens Point Pacelli’s Allie Roth and Macy Milanowski 6-1, 6-1.

Also posting victories for the Dons were Scout Inman at No. 2 singles, Lydia McIntee at No. 3 singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Riley Roehl and Daniella Ceron.
