Stratford rips Grantsburg in WIAA Division 5 playoff opener

STRATFORD – Stratford jumped out to a 32-0 halftime lead on its way to a 39-7 win over Grantsburg in a WIAA Division 5 Level 1 football playoff game Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.

Stratford improves to 7-3 and will play a Level 2 game at undefeated and No. 1 seed Colby (10-0) at 4 p.m. Saturday at Colby High School.

The Tigers are making their 20th straight playoff appearance.

Grantsburg’s season ends with a 4-6 record.

Travis Urlaub scored three touchdowns and Derek Austin returned a punt 60 yards for a score as the Tigers pulled away early.

Stratford scored four second-quarter touchdowns en route to the victory.
