Lesley Visser announced as main speaker for 47th Red Smith Sports Award Banquet

APPLETON – CBS Sports reporter Lesley Visser, the most highly acclaimed female sportscaster of all-time, will be the main speaker at the 47th Annual Red Smith Sports Award Banquet on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton.

Visser, a key contributor for The NFL Today, the NFL playoffs and the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament, was honored with the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. She is the only sportscaster ever to have worked on network broadcasts for the Final Four, Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, Triple Crown, Olympics, U.S. Open and World Figure Skating Championships.

Winners of the Nice Guy Award and Red Smith Award will be announced in the coming weeks.
